The Art Collection of Villa Cagnola contains one of the finest private collections of paintings (on panel and canvas), mostly with gold-leaf backgrounds, which were painted by Tuscan and Venetian artists of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries and by Lombard painters of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
It also includes one of the richest and most complete collections of ceramics: majolica and European and Oriental porcelain, ranging from the beginning of the XIV century to the late XIX century, suggesting a sort of imaginary journey through western European countries up to the Far East.
The several Flemish and the French tapestries, the precious antique furniture, the bronze plaques and the sculptures are also of outstanding value.
